China’s Olympic women’s tennis gold medalist Zheng Qinwen on Wednesday completed her first training session for the 2024 China Open at the Diamond Court of China National Tennis Center in Beijing.
Zheng withdrew from the Guadalajara Open in Mexico and returned to Beijing to prepare for the Chinese season after finishing her 2024 U.S. Open journey. The China Open will be her first local tournament of the year.
After about 15 minutes of baseline practice, Zheng Qinwen carried out targeted practice on various technical links, and her coach Pere Riba gave guidance from time to time.
The 2024 China Open women’s singles tournament began on Sept. 25, and Zheng will debut on Sept. 27 or 28.
