Sittway to hold walking Thingyan

The traditional Rakhine Thingyan Festival will be held in Sittway, Rakhine State under the supervision of the Rakhine State Government, according to the state government.
 
The traditional Thingyan will include a walking Thingyan, and  on the eve of the traditional Rakhine Thingyan, the Rakhine traditional incense grinding event will be held at U Ottama Hall along with a performance of traditional dance groups.  
 
After the incense grinding event, a sacred bathing Buddha images ceremony will be held at Atula Marazein Pyilonchantha Pagoda in Sittway. The walking Thingyan will be held along the main road in front of Khinethazin Hall , Attorney General of the Rakhine State Government U Hla Thein said.
 
On the first day of the new year, the traditional event of paying respects to the elderly will be held, followed by a Parrita recitation ceremony.
