A driver of the YBS 110 bus line has been banned for high-speed driving and rude behavior towards passengers, U Lian Cin Mang, joint secretary of Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC), said.
It is learnt that a YBS 110 bus running from Yuzana Garden City to Sule (City Hall) was going at a high-speed on Thanthuma Road on February 17 afternoon. When passengers asked the driver to stop the bus, the driver responded rudely to the passengers. An argument broke out between the driver and the passengers, and all the passengers on board got off the bus.
A YBS driver’s license will be banned and revoked if he violates the set rules such as driving through a red light three times, driving at high-speed and running away after a traffic accident, U Lian Cin Mang said.
YUPT Public Company also conducted an inquiry on the incident and announced that as the YBS 110 driver was found to have caused inconvenience and panic to passengers by driving at high speed, the driver was given a penalty of dismissal.
