Yangon-Mawlamyine train service, which was temporarily suspended due to a mine blast, will resume on May 29, according to the Myanma Railways.
A freight train carrying rocks was detonated near Milepost 3/124 near Kalikyun Village, Thaton Township, Mon State.

Due to the incident, some carriages of the train derailed and the tracks were cut, which caused the Yangon-Mawlamyine train service to temporarily suspend. Myanma Railways personnel are working hard to ensure that the train service resumes as soon as possible, and the Yangon-Mawlamyine train service will resume on May 29.
The Mawlamyine Railways Station has announced that the Mawlamyine-Yangon train No. 82 Down, which will depart from Mawlamyine Station on May 29, will be operated with regular AAR carriages.
