The Department of Transport Planning of the Ministry of Transport and Communications announced that the renewal and modification of domestic road transport licenses will be carried out using an online system starting from February 10.
The online system will be used for license renewal and modification from February 10 to March 31 as a trial period. After that, it will be fully implemented starting from April 1. The system will initially be applied in Yangon and Mandalay. An agreement was signed between the Department of Transport Planning and Secure Link Co., Ltd. in August 2024 to implement the system. According to the agreement, after the first six months of developing and constructing the computer system design, Yangon and Mandalay offices will start giving services on the process of vehicle license renewal and modification.
The second phase will continue for 6 months, and application for issuance of licenses for road transport could be submitted through the website, web portal and mobile (iOS/Android) at all region, state, district and township offices. The Department of Transport Planning issues the following types of licenses: Goods Transport License (A License), Passenger Transport License (B License), Chartered Passenger Transport License (C License), Contracted Transport License (D License), and Private Business Transport License (E License).
