YRTC Joint Secretary U Lyan Cin Mang told One News that over 1,000 YBS buses will run daily in Yangon during Thingyan.
On the eve of Thingyan on April 13, 65 bus lines will run 1269 buses, on the descent day of Thingyan on April 14, 62 bus lines will run 1192 buses, on the middle day of Thingyan on April 15, 62 bus lines will run 1187 buses, and on the ascend day of Thingyan on April 16, 62 bus lines will run 1187 buses, he said.
YBS buses have been instructed not to charge higher fares, to operate on regular hours, to follow traffic rules and regulations, and not to drive under the influence of alcohol during the Thingyan period, said U Lyan Cin Mang.

On New Year’s Day, April 17, all YBS bus lines will resume normal operations, and 10 buses from 63 YBS bus lines will operate free of charge.
Additionally, the 6 express bus lines at Aung Mingalar Express Bus Terminal and the 7 express bus lines at Dagon Ayeyar Express Bus Terminal will operate without holidays during the Thingyan period. On April 23, a total of 331 express bus lines will resume normal operations.
