The Myanmar Passport Office has announced that the online system for passport applications using QR Codes, which was temporarily suspended due to the earthquake, will be resumed on May 1. The online appointment booking system for passport applications was temporarily suspended for almost a month as communication towers were damaged by the powerful earthquake.

The announcement stated that the Online Appointment System for passport applications, which was temporarily suspended, will be resumed on May 1. As those who previously submitted booking with use of QR Codes have appointments until June, passports are being issued to them as usual, and emergency passport applications for health and education reasons will be processed through the Green Channel, according to the Information Team of the State Administration Council.

In addition, as passport offices in Yangon, Myitkyina and Lashio have revised appointment dates for those who have received online appointment dates to process their passports promptly, they have been informed that they can review their appointment dates and will be able to visit the relevant offices on the revised dates, according to the announcement.
