Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Kyaw Soe Win met with the chairman and central executive committee members of Myanmar Tourism Federation on February 11 to discuss holding the Myanmar Tourism Expo 2025, according to the ministry.
The tourism expo will be held with the aim of making Myanmar’s tourist destinations known to the world and increasing the number of foreign tourists. If it is able to link the Myanmar Tourism Expo to tourism exhibitions in ASEAN countries, it will be known more internationally, and tourism operators will have to make more efforts for development of the tourism sector, Union Minister U Kyaw Soe Win said.
More than 1.28 million foreign travellers visited Myanmar in 2023 but only 1.06 million in 2024, according to the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.
