Mongphone Sayadaw, who is on a mission to provide aid and donations to earthquake-affected areas, visited the Maravijaya Buddha Image in the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on April 22 morning.
Led by Mongphone Sayadaw Aggamaha Saddhammajottikadhaja Aggamaha Kammatthanacariya Ashin Nyana Sanvara, Sayadaws and Sanghas offered flowers, water, and electric lights to the Maravijaya Buddha Image and recited Paritta. After that, the Mongphone Sayadaw prayed for the well-being of everyone affected by the powerful Mandalay earthquake and shared merits gained.
Many local people waited and paid respects to the Mongphone Sayadaw, who is on an assistance and donation tour to earthquake-hit areas. The Sayadaw also distributed amulets to the people who came to pay their respects. It is also learnt that the Mongphone Sayadaw will continue his journey from Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory to Yangon.
