The Japanese Embassy in Myanmar announced that a Japanese Self-Defense Force aircraft carrying medical supplies, including medicines and diagnostic testing kits, for earthquake-affected Myanmar, arrived in the country on the morning of April 9.
Japan will provide relief supplies worth over $6 million for the Myanmar earthquake. The medical supplies that arrived today will be continuously delivered to the Joint Disaster Relief (JDR) Medical Technology Team.
Japan sent a five-member study team to Myanmar on March 31. On April 2, the Joint Disaster Response Team (JDR) sent 27 new members, including doctors and nurses, for a total of 32.

In addition, on March 30, 240 emergency raincoats and 450 tents were delivered through the Disaster Emergency Logistics System for ASEAN (DELSA). The Japanese government has also announced that it will provide basic daily necessities such as cleaning supplies, water and water purifiers to earthquake-affected people through JICA.
