The fire-burning festival was held on April 11 as the last day of the Hindu Temple Festival in Pilakhat Village, Kyauktan Township, Yangon Region.
The festival was held for 10 days from April 2, and hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from all over the country visited it.
All pilgrims were also served vegetarian food and rice dishes every day, said U Thein Lwin, chairman of the All Myanmar Tamil Hindu Foundation (Central).
Daily offerings were held during the festival, and on April 11 morning, offerings were made with fire pots and fireworks, and the main fire-burning festival was held at around 4 pm.
The devotees who will participate in the fire-burning festival must do fasting for 10 days before the fire-burning festival, and during the fasting, they have to eat vegetarian food and observe the Five Precepts.
Fire-burning festivals are held periodically by Hindus throughout Myanmar, and people of other religions, in addition to Hindus, also participate in the fire-burning festival.
