Sagaing needs assistance for rehabilitation after many residential buildings, religious buildings, departmental buildings, religious schools and educational institutions in the city were damaged by the powerful earthquake.

Until the evening of April 4, seven days after the earthquake, only some of the damaged areas in the city had been cleared of debris while some other areas had not been cleared. U Aung, chairman of the Pyinnyamaung Social Assistance Association in Sagaing, said that although many donors have recently come to donate, a long-term rehabilitation process is needed.Rescue teams in the city said that the data on the exact number of people injured and killed is still being collected as the damage caused by the earthquake is still being cleared.
U Zaw Naing Oo, owner of Window construction materials store in Sagaing, said that the main focus will be on clearing up the rubble at the collapsed houses due to the earthquake and that the rehabilitation work will continue.Most of the houses in Sagaing were destroyed by the earthquake, and the earthquake-affected people are taking shelter in nearby areas.Daw Khin Moh Moh, a resident of Poedan Ward in Sagaing, said that people were in need of shelters because their houses were damaged by the earthquake.

The powerful earthquake that struck on March 28 caused considerable damage in Sagaing, where religious buildings are located, and the local Buddhist monks and residents are in need of domestic and foreign assistance for rehabilitation.
