The ancient buildings within the complex of Hsinphyushin Brick Monastery in the Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone are being renovated, according to the Department of Archaeology and National Museum (Bagan Branch).
The complex has more than forty buildings including a brick monastery, where Buddhist monks lived from the Bagan era to the Pinya era, and a Buddhist ordination hall and a pond used by Buddhist monks.

The renovation and maintenance work is being done to preserve the original appearance of the damaged buildings, U Aye Lwin, deputy director of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum (Bagan Branch) said.
The Hsinphyushin Brick Monastery complex has been designated as a smoke-free zone since 2015. It also won the third prize at the ASEAN Smoke Free Award in August 2024.
There is a plan to continue to renovate the damaged and deteriorated places for devotees to worship at the pagodas of Shwe Mudaw, Phaung Daw Oo and Yadana Myintzu in the Bagan region
