Effective action will be taken against persons allowing people, who do not meet the set requirements, to go abroad after taking money from them, an official of the Ministry of Immigration and Population of the Union of Myanmar said in response to a question.
There is no instruction prohibiting young women from leaving for Thailand at the Yangon International Airport, and they are allowed to leave without discrimination if they comply with the law and regulations, the official said.

According to the official, people could go abroad with ordinary passports, if their documents such as passports, visas and air tickets meet the specified requirements.
It is learnt that issuance of Oversea Workers Identity Card (OWIC) for men aged 18 to 35 who will work abroad with a PJ passport has been suspended for the time being.
Section 51 of the People’s Military Service Rules provides that a person who has received an order for military service is not allowed to leave the country without the permission of the Central Committee for Summoning People’s Military Service. Therefore, if men, who are eligible for military service, go abroad to work with a PJ passport, they need to check whether their name is on the military service list.
