From January to May this year, the number of foreign traveler arrivals has increased by more than 17,000 compared to the same period in the previous year, according to the Yangon Region Department of Hotels and Tourism.

In 2024, about 120,000 foreign travelers arrived in the first five months of the year, and in 2025, more than 118,000 arrived. Most foreign travelers entering Myanmar come on business visas, said an official from the Yangon Region Department of Hotels and Tourism.
Foreign travelers arrived in the country through the Yangon International Airport. Most of them are from China, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and the United States, and they visit Yangon, Bago, Kyaiktiyo , Mawlamyine, Nay Pyi Taw, Bagan, Kalaw, Pindaya and Inlay.
