Myanma Railways announced that it will operate Yangon-Pyay and Yangon-Mawlamyine special trains during the New Year holidays in order that the people and departmental personnel can conveniently travel.
Special trains will run on Yangon- Mawlamyine and Mawlamyine-Yangon routes on December 27 and 28, Yangon-Pyay route on December 28 and Yangon-Mawlamyine, Mawlamyine-Yangon and Pyay-Yangon routes on January 1, 2025, the announcement said.
The Yangon-Mawlamyine special train will leave Yangon Central Railway Station at 7:45 am, and the Mawlamyine-Yangon special train will leave Mawlamyine Station at 9:15 am. The Yangon-Pyay special train will leave Yangon Central Railway Station at 1:00 pm, and the Pyay-Yangon special train will leave Pyay Station at 10:30 pm.
In addition to the special trains, the daily Yangon-Mawlamyine trains No. 89 Up and No. 90 Down and Yangon-Pyay trains No.71 Up and No.72 Down will also operate as usual on those days.
Moreover, the Nay Pyi Taw-Mandalay RBE trains No. 25 Up and No. 26 Down have been running daily since December 23, and the Thazi-Mandalay RBE train No. 301 Up has been running daily starting from November 11.Coaches are set to be added to the regular trains running on the route of Yangon-Mandalay-Yangon depending on the number of passengers.
Train tickets for the special trains will be sold three days in advance for upper class coaches and one day in advance for ordinary class coaches, and the ticket prices are the same as those for regular trains.
