The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a warning at 7 pm on April 2 that some regions and states may experience untimely rain from April 4 evening to 11. According to the observations made at 6:30 pm on April 2, due to the confrontation of warm air in the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal with cold air moving from the high pressure area over mainland China and the speed of the cyclones moving from the east, some regions and states may experience unseasonal rains.
Isolated to scattered thundershowers are possible in Tanintharyi Region, Kayin State and Mon State from the evening of April 2 to 5. Similarly, from April 6 to 11, patchy to isolated rain is expected in Nay Pyi Taw and other areas including Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, Bago Region, Magway Region, Sagaing Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Kayah State, Chin State, Rakhine State and Shan State. Meanwhile, widespread showers with thunderstorms are likely in Tanintharyi Region, Kachin State, Kayin State, and Mon State during the same period.
The Department also warns of the possibility of strong winds, thunderstorms, lightning, lightning and hail, as these unseasonal rains may be accompanied by severe weather events.
