The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has stated that unseasonal rain is possible across the country, including the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Yangon and Mandalay Regions.
The unseasonal rain is likely to fall due to the interaction of warm air from the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal with cold air moving from the high-pressure area over mainland China, the acceleration of the eastward-moving cyclones, and the strong development of thermal clouds.
Due to these conditions, widespread rain to scattered thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected across the country from April 11 to April 17, with isolated heavy rain possible in some areas.
The weather forecast also advises caution as severe weather events such as strong winds, thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and landslides may occur along with unseasonal rain.
