The collapse of the Nanmadaw Mae Nu Oak Kyaung may cause difficulties to the local residents who depend on tourists to make a living, according to some locals.
In addition to Mae Nu Oak Kyaung, many ancient buildings in Inwa area including Htee Hlaing Shin Pagoda , Lay Htatgyi Kyaung and Kethin Pagoda, have also collapsed.
There are people in the Inwa region whose homes have collapsed due to the earthquake, and since the number of donors coming to donate is still small, locals want wellwishers to come and make donations in the region.
The extremely strong earthquake that struck on March 28 caused the collapse and damage to pagodas, religious buildings and houses in Mandalay, causing deaths and injuries.
