The powerful earthquake that struck near Mandalay at 12:51 pm Myanmar time on March 28 and aftershocks have claimed 65 lives in Shan State so far.
According to the latest figures, 18 pagodas, three Buddhist monasteries and nunneries, one bridge, and 157 residential buildings in Shan State have been damaged with 65 deaths and 73 injuries.
The Data Management Centre (DMC) is working with various committees such as search and rescue, data collection, rehabilitation, education and health, and the death toll from the very strong earthquake has now exceeded 2,000 nationwide.
