The ASEAN All-Stars defeated Manchester United with a single goal from winger Maung Maung Lwin in a friendly match played at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the evening of May 28.
Manchester United manager Amorim used a mix of senior and junior players for most of the match.
The ASEAN All-Stars responded to Manchester United with a well- organized performance and were able to make substitutions to replace players who had lost their energy. Manchester United had more chances, but Maung Maung Lwin, the only Myanmar national player included in the ASEAN All-Stars team, scored the winning goal in the 71st minute with a calm finish. With that, Maung Maung Lwin has been recorded as the first Myanmar player to score against the famous English club Manchester United.

Manchester United travelled to Malaysia for a friendly match immediately after the Premier League season ended bringing most of the team’s key players.
The ASEAN Football Federation has selected 20 players from the national teams of ASEAN member countries to form the ASEAN All-Stars team for the friendly match against Manchester United with South Korean Kim Sang-sik, head coach of Vietnam national team, acting as the coach of the ASEAN All-stars team. Manchester United are also scheduled to play a friendly match against China (Hong Kong) on May 30.
