A prayer service for the late Pope Francis was held at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Yangon on April 22 at 5 p.m. The Archbishop of Yangon, Cardinal Charles Bo, and the clergy led the service.
Ambassadors and officials from South Korea, Brazil, Timor-Leste, Switzerland, Italy, Britain, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Israel, as well as Christian devotees, attended the prayer service. Cardinal Charles Bo, Archbishop of Yangon, said that while he was saddened by demise of Pope Francis, he was confident that he would find peace.

A memorial book of condolences for Pope Francis has been provided at the Jubilee Gate of St. Mary’s Cathedral, where people can sign and lay wreaths for about a week. Some of the Pope’s belongings are also on display. Pope Francis, the first Latin American leader of the Roman Catholic Church, died on April 21.
