Drugs were not found at the Great Wall Hotel in Mandalay, which collapsed due to the Mandalay earthquake on March 28, as reportedly reported on social media, U Shine Ko Ko, deputy director of the Yangon Region Fire Services Department which is conducting search and rescue operations at the hotel, told One News.

After the earthquake, the search and rescue operations at the hotel were carried out by members of the Myanmar Fire Services Department, Myanmar social rescue teams, Shenzhen Volunteer Rescue Team from China and Russian rescue teams. U Shine Ko Ko said that nothing suspicious was found at the Great Wall Hotel as reported on social media. In conducting search and rescue operations at the Great Wall Hotel continued until April 9, a pregnant woman was rescued alive and five bodies were recovered.
In addition, the information circulating on social media that the search and rescue operations at the Great Wall Hotel were suspended due to lack of permission is completely false, and search and rescue operations have been carried out daily since the day of the earthquake. Currently, search and rescue operations are being carried out in collaboration with the Myanmar Fire Services Department and social assistance organizations, he added.

According to the statistics released by the Information Team of the State Administration Council until April 9, there were 3,649 deaths, 5,018 injuries and 145 missing people due to the Mandalay earthquake.
