According to the compiled statistics, there have been 129 floods, 390 windstorms, and 240 river bank collapses in the past 5 years in Magway Region.

To reduce damage caused by natural disasters, the public should read the weather reports issued by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology and follow the awareness and warnings issued by the Department of Disaster Management, said Daw Htwe Kyi, the head of the Magway Region Disaster Management Department. The Magway Region Disaster Management Department is supporting assistance to families affected by natural disasters, and if it is insufficient, they can request additional assistance.
