Another earthquake-affected building on 84th Street between 39th Street and 40th Street in Mah Aungmye Township, Mandalay, collapsed at around 10 am on May 28, according to the Mandalay Region Fire Services Department.
As it has been raining heavily in Mandalay City recently, it is believed that another building collapse may have occurred due to the rainwater. A man nearby was injured in the collapse of the four-story building, and personnel of relevant township fire departments and organizations have visited and inspected the incident, according to an official from the Mandalay Region Fire Services Department.
On May 20, a collapse of an earthquake-hit building occurred on 89th Street in Maha Aungmye Township, Mandalay, causing residents to evacuate. It was a three-and-a-half-story building hit by the Mandalay earthquake. In addition, a father and a son were killed when a tree fell on a temporary tent of earthquake-affected people at the Abayayama Shwegu Monastery at the corner of 41st and 89th Streets, Seinpan Ward, Mandalay.
