A passenger bus overturned between Mileposts 3/14 and 4/14 on the Meiktila-Kyaukpadaung Highway, Meiktila Township, Mandalay Region, at around 3:30 am on June 2, killing six people, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department.
The Meiktila District Fire Services Station dispatched one rescue and towing vehicle, one fire engine, one ambulance and a team of fire fighters to the scene of the accident to take aid and rescue measures.

The six dead and 11 injured were taken to Meiktila General Hospital by Red Cross ambulances and Pyithaya (South) Social Assistance Association ambulances.
On May 26, a Myingyan-Yangon passenger bus was swept away in Taungtha Township while passing through the flooded Sintewa Creek. All the passengers in the bus were safe as the public collectively rescued them.
