The humanitarian aid donated by the governments of Australia and Vietnam arrived on April 8, the State Administration Council said in a statement.
The Australian government donated 37,415 kilograms of aid, including solar lamps, household items and medicines. Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, the Chargé dAffaires of the Australian Embassy in Myanmar and the WFP office in Yangon welcomed the arrival.

Similarly, the Vietnamese government donated 22,139 kilograms of aid, including tents, food, medicine and medical supplies. Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, and was received by Yangon Region Government Chief Minister U Soe Thein.
The government said it has quickly assessed the damage in earthquake-affected areas and is carrying out timely rescue operations, and has also opened the way for humanitarian assistance from abroad.
