Stimulant pills worth over 3.7 billion kyats were seized in Thazi Township, Mandalay Region, and Hpa-an, Kayin State, according to a statement released by the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip-off, a PAJERO vehicle driving from Taunggyi to Yangon was searched by the authorities near Kywetatson Village, Thazi Township, Mandalay Region. A man and a woman were arrested with 500,000 stimulant pills in the vehicle. Similarly, on February 7 morning, a man and a woman were arrested with 990,000 stimulant pills hidden in the bags of dried fish on a Toyota Noan Voxy vehicle at the highway bus terminal in Hpa-an, Kayin State, the statement said.

Upon further investigation, a man involved in the drugs trafficking was arrested with a motorcycle in Ward 5, Myawady, on February 7 afternoon and two men with a Toyota Wish vehicle in Ward 4. It was revealed that the seized drugs were being transported from Shan State to the Myawady border, and seven people have been charged with drug trafficking under the law, the statement said.
