Narcotic drugs worth over 1 billion kyat were seized along with arms and ammunition in Tachilek, Shan State (East), on April 19 afternoon, according to the statement released by the Myanmar Police Force on April 21.
While acting on a tip-off, the police personnel arrested four men who had arrived in three vehicles to sell drugs along with 600,000 pills of stimulant drugs.

Upon further investigation, a man who sold amphetamine pills was arrested at his home in Yan Aung Myay Ward, Tachilek, at around 11 pm that day. Three pistols, 728 rounds of various ammunition and 28,000 amphetamine pills were seized along with three vehicles. Total value of the seized drugs and other items are 1.18 billion kyats, the statement said.
Action has been taken against the arrested according to the law, and the perpetrators in the chain crime are being identified. Further action is being taken under the Anti-Money Laundering Act to seize the financial benefits and assets obtained from drug trafficking as public funds, the statement said.
