The Myanmar Police Force reported the seizure of drugs worth more than Ks. 1 billion in Waw Township, Bago Region, and Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw.
A joint team of security forces conducted a search of a Toyota Lexus vehicle driven by a man from Tatkon near Nyaung Khashay Village in Waw Township, en route to Mawlamyine, at around 1 p.m. on April 28.

During the search, they discovered 1 million ecstasy pills in the vehicle. Additionally, at 4:30 p.m. that same day, authorities arrested a man at his home in Myawaddy Ward, Tatkone Township, where they found 2.3 kilograms of marijuana and a vehicle. The total estimated value of the seized drugs—1 million ecstasy pills and 2.3 kilograms of marijuana—exceeds Ks. 1.5 billion.
The investigation revealed that the drugs were transported from Shan State to Mon State for sale. The two men arrested have been charged under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law, and investigations are ongoing to identify others involved in these criminal activities.
