700,000 pills of stimulant drugs to be transported from Taunggyi Township, Shan State (South) to Yangon Region were seized on January 4, according to the statement released by
the Central Committee on Drug Abuse Control on January 14.

According to the statement, 400,000 pills of stimulant drugs were first seized from a car going to Aungpan from Taunggyi near Taung Lay Lone Village in Taunggyi Township on January 4. In connection with that case, another 300,000 pills were seized from a car driving from Taunggyi to Yangon near Kwe Tat Son Village in Tharzi Township, Mandalay Region on January 5.
In addition, three people who are reselling the drugs in Yangon were also arrested, and action has been taken under the law, the statement said.
