The security forces raided and arrested illicit fuel oil traders who constructed oil storage tanks near the Kantalu Joint Checkpoint at Nyaung Pin Zin village, Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region on December 27, according to statement released by SAC Information Team on January 2.
During the operation in five yards, they arrested 17 offenders with 22 bowsers including 13 bowsers and one trailer and 30,083 gallons of premium diesel, 30,462 gallons of 92 Octane and cash used in illegal trading. According to the investigation, fuel oil was stored illegally, transported to
some areas in Sagaing Region, Kachin State and Shan State (Northern) and sold in unreasonably higher prices.
The 17 illicit traders were taken action under Section 5 of the Essential Supplies and Services Law, and the seized vehicles and fuel oil will be managed under laws, rules and procedures.
