A gold jewelry shop named Dragon Palace was robbed in Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay, , according to the Mandalay Region Police.
The incident occurred at around 9 am on December 26. Two men armed with guns arrived at the Dragon Palace Gold Jewelry Shop on 77th Street between 32nd and 33th Street in the township while the shop owner and staff were preparing to open the shop. The armed men threatened and robbed them and then fled with about one viss of gold displayed on the counter of the shop and 300,000 kyats, according to the Mandalay Region Police.
Currently, security personnel concerned are investigating the incident at the shop and taking measures to be able to arrest the suspects, an official of the Mandalay Region Police said.
On December 24, a robbery occurred at Hsinphyudaw money transferring shop at 43rd Street between 64th Street and 65th Street, Maha Aungmyay Township, Mandalay. A car and over 70 million kyats were stolen in that case.
