The copyright system needs to meet international standards as well as to be in line with the country’s current political, economic, and educational conditions, Member of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Htun Oo said.
He made the remarks at a meeting of the Central Committee on Copyright held at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Commerce in Nay Pyi Taw on March 3.

Of the four copyright laws enacted in 2019, the Trademark Law, Industrial Design Law, and Literary and Artistic Copyright Law came into force in 2023 and the Patent Law in 2024, and they have been exercised and implemented in line with other regional and ASEAN countries, he said.
The Union Minister urged all of the officials concerned to make efforts in order that the copyright system being built in the country can be a system beneficial to the whole nation.
