The People’s Republic of China has donated 95 operation rooms and 1,804 modular (prefabricated) houses for the reconstruction efforts following the Mandalay earthquake. The ships carrying these supplies arrived at Yangon’s Thilawa (MITT) port on May 12 and 13.
The goods were handed over to the Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional ministers and relevant officials at Thilawa Port on the morning of May 14 by Mr. Ouyang Daobing, Commercial Attaché of the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar.

The Ministry of Health will distribute the 95 Operation Rooms donated by China to earthquake-stricken areas. The Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials inspected the conditions of loading 1,804 modular houses from trucks to train cars by cranes for transportation to earthquake-stricken areas from Yangon Region by Myanmar Railways.
