About 80 percent of Korea-Myanmar friendship (Dala) Bridge construction has been completed crossing Yangon River and expected to finish at the end of 2025, U Kyaw Kaung Cho, Director- General of Department of Bridge, told One News. Currently, only the construction of main bridge remains to complete.
U Kyaw Kaung Cho said that the construction of bridge is being supervised to be completed as fast as possible and estimated to be completed on time. Once completed, the bridge will take an important role for the development of Dala and will also provide access to neighboring townships such as Twantay, Kawhhu, Kyaungchangon, and the Ayeyarwady Region.
The Korea-Myanmar Friend ship Bridge(Dala) ground breaking work was carried out on December 24 2018 and the total cost of construction is over US$.188 million including the contribution of Korea Economic Development Fund and Myanmar Government budget. The total length of the bridge is 1,867 meters, width is 26.5 meters and it has a load capacity of 75 tons. It is a four-lane steel cable-stayed bridge.
