The State Administration Council (SAC) Information Team announced that Ministry of Defence has promulgated the People’s Military Service Rules and Regulations on January 23, 2025. The rules are divided into 10 chapters, 59 sections, and 12 appendices.
Chapter( I) includes the name and definitions of terms; Chapter (II ) addresses the age and period for military service; Chapter ( III ) covers the stages to form the Committee for Summoning People’s Military Servants and their responsibilities; Chapter (IV ) deals with the registration and enlistment; Chapter( V ) outlines the medical examination and the application process for exemption from military service or for the reduction or postponement of the military service to a separately specified period of time, Chapter (VI) addresses summonses, Chapter (VII) covers the formation and duties of medical examination boards, Chapter ( VIII) specifies the rights of people’s military servants, Chapter (IX ) covers military mobilization, and Chapter( X) provides general information.
The State Administrative Council has issued an order that the People’s Military Service Law enacted in 2010 shall come into effect on February 10, 2024. The People’s Military Service Training Course 1 was launched on April 8, 2024 and so far, The People’s Military Service Training Course 9 had conducted on January 20, 2025.
