Member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Htun Oo called for boosting of cooperation in combating online scams in the ASEAN countries including Myanmar.
The Union Minister made the remarks during a discussion at the ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 16 and 17.

The digital transformation needs to be based on security, innovation and inclusivity. It is necessary to work together to build trust among users of digital services and to emphasize digital literacy programs in implementing all-inclusive digital connectivity so that people and businesses can use digital services meaningfully, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister General Mya Htun Oo said in the discussion.
During attending the ASEAN Digital Ministers’ Meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister General Mya Htun Oo met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Social Affairs of Thailand separately on January 16, and they agreed that Thailand and Myanmar will work together to combat online scam gangs, according to The Bangkok Post.
