The Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing arrived at the JSC Progress Factory in Samara, Russia, on March 8 local time and met with Mr. Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of the Russian State Space Corporation (ROSCOSMOS).

At the meeting, they discussed cooperation in the peaceful use of space technology between the two countries, matters of launching satellites that will benefit Myanmar and its people, matters on sending more Myanmar scholarship students to attend space technology courses, ways to enhance cooperation and friendship between Myanmar and Samara and other matters on cooperation.
The Director General and officials of ROSCOSMOS also gave a wide-range presentation on use of satellites to monitor natural disasters and conduct research to improve agricultural activities, environmental protection activities through using satellites, satellite photography and communications, launching of satellite, rocket assembly and production, space station construction, and Russia’s assistance in upgrading and opening a space museum in Myanmar. After that, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and delegation viewed the satellite assembly and rocket production facilities at the factory.

The Myanmar delegation led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was hosted by the Director General of the Russian State Space Corporation (ROSCOSMOS) with lunch. JSC Progress produces motors and engines for aircraft, rockets, and spacecraft as well as technologies and equipment required for Russia’s space exploration activities.
