Safety regulations regarding lead smelting operations have been prepared based on opinions and recommendations of relevant ministries, said Chairman of the Central Leading Board of Prevention of Hazard from Chemical and Related Substances ,Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than.
He said it at the meeting of the Central Leading Board of Prevention of Hazard from Chemical and Related Substances held on February 18. Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than said that it is necessary to define the responsibilities of Nay Pyi Taw, Region and State supervisory bodies to effectively supervise and ensure safety in the domestic transportation of chemicals and related materials in accordance with laws and regulations.
The Union Minister also said that the approval of the Central Leading Board will be sought at this meeting to issue directives on the transportation of chemicals and related materials and directives on the establishment of safety regulations for the lead smelting industry.
