Nearly 800 illegal immigrants have been detained and 61 individuals been repatriated in Myawaddy, Shwe Kokko and KK Park regions, according to SAC Information Team. 61 illegal foreigners who committed illegal online games and online frauds were investigated and verified in Myawaddy, Shwe Kokko and KK Park regions from January 30 to February 15 and 799 migrant were detained.

The statement mentioned that foreign nationals detained were those who illegally entered into Myanmar through border routes transiting through some of neighboring countries, including Thailand. The statement also stated that 61 of the detained foreign immigrants were systematically transferred to Thailand on January 31 in accordance with legal procedures. In addition, 69 foreign nationals on February 11, 200 on February 14, and 469 on February 15, totaling 738 people have been detained and collected personal information and records necessary for their repatriation to the relevant countries in accordance with legal procedures, said the statement.

The statement revealed that 799 illegal immigrants included individuals from China, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Uganda, Thailand and Chinese (Taipei). It has been stated that the state has been actively collaborating to be able to promptly investigate and repatriate foreign nationals who committed online scams, online games and other crimes in Myawaddy, Shwe Kokko and KK Park regions, the statement said.
