A high-level delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing left Nay Pyi Taw Military Airport at around 7:30 am on May 7 for a goodwill visit to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The high-level delegation was seen off at the airport by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council and Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, SAC Secretary General Aung Lin Dway, SAC members and senior military officers.
On the goodwill visit, the SAC Chairman will attend the military parade commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 to be held at Moscow’s Red Square on May 9 and related ceremonies. In addition, he will have separate meetings and discussions with the heads of state attending the ceremony. During the goodwill visit, friendship, economy, security and strategic cooperation in all sectors between the governments and the people of both countries will be further strengthened.

Similarly, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, SAC Chairman’s wife, will meet with Ms. Valentina Matvienko, speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, according to the statement. On the trip, the SAC Chairman, who is along with his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, is accompanied by SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, SAC members Dr Ba Shwe and Khun San Lwin, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin, deputy ministers and high-ranking officials.
