The programs broadcast by Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) need to be programs that are of interest to the public and easy to understand, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win.
He made the remarks at the ceremony to mark the 79th anniversary of Myanmar Radio and Television held at its headquarters in Tatkon, Nay Pyi Taw, on February 15.

The name Rangoon Radio was renamed as Burma Broadcasting Services (BBS) on February 15, 1946. BBS is the parent broadcasting service of MRTV.
