The current number of temporarily displaced people in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory and regions and states are 694,189 according to the statistics until February 5, and they will be provided cash assistance in the total amount of over 166 billion kyats, according to the Disaster Management Department under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing has said that each temporarily displaced person will be provided cash assistance at the rate of 20,000 kyats per month on the monthly basis for the period from January to December 2025. Currently, the cash assistance is being provided for January.

It is learnt that the assistance will be provided for five times: two months assistance for February and March in April, three months assistance from April to June in July, three months assistance from July to September in October and three months assistance from October to December in January 2026.
