The Russian Orthodox Church has been granted permission to begin religious activities in Myanmar, according to Department of Religious Affairs under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
The signing ceremony for the Letter of Agreement on Permission to Carry Out Religious Activities between the Department of Religious Affairs and the Russian Orthodox Church in Southeast Asia was held at the M Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on February 18.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, the Archbishop of Russian Orthodox Church in Southeast Asia and the Orthodox Church of Singapore. The representatives of both sides signed the Letter of Agreement on Permission to Carry Out Religious Activities.
