The illegal foreign nationals involved in illegal online gambling and scams in Tangyan Township, Shan State (North), will be handed over to their respective countries, according to a state-run newspaper.
On March 12, a search operation was conducted in Narhote Village Tract, Tangyan Township, resulting in the arrest of 165 illegal foreign nationals and one Myanmar national for illegal online gambling and scam. The suspects were arrested along with a 200-foot-long, 60-foot-wide corrugated iron hall, five seven-room temporary residential buildings, furniture used in their illegal operations, two Starlink sets, 30 various phones and five All-in-One computers.
The arrested individuals are currently being scrutinized and investigated and may be prosecuted in accordance with the law. It is learnt that foreign nationals will be handed over to their respective countries on humanitarian grounds and for friendship between countries.
