Chairman of State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that he believed that Myanmar-Russia multi-sectoral cooperation would be promoted in the near future. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing made the statement during a media briefing held with Chairman of SAC Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow on the evening of March 4, local time.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing explained that he discussed a wide range of topics on international and bilateral situations with President Putin as well as cooperation between the two countries, cooperation in economic development and promotion of relations between the two countries with Russian Prime Minister and the Speaker of State Duma and signed more agreements. During the visit, it has been planned to officially open Myanmar Consulates General offices in St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk, therefore he believed that continuous discussions, exchanges and cooperation between the two countries can be carried out extensively.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that Myanmar fully supports all efforts taken by Russia to maintain its sovereignty and promote global peace and stability. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also expressed his gratitude for Russia’s continued support for Myanmar in regional and international fronts at the time of striving to achieve Myanmar’s political goals. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing also invited President Vladimir Putin to pay a goodwill visit to Myanmar at an appropriate time.
