The European Union in Myanmar announced that the second plane carrying 55 tonnes of critical supplies arrived in Yangon on April 9 to support communities in Myanmar affected by the earthquake.

The humanitarian aid organized by the European Union includes emergency shelter, medical supplies and other essential items to help people in need. Cesvi Onlus, an Italian humanitarian organization operating in Myanmar, will systematically distribute the aid to the relevant areas based on needs.

The first batch of EU aid has recently arrived in Myanmar with 80 tonnes of supplies given to UNICEF for distribution to those in need. The European Union has announced an additional €13 million in emergency response to the earthquake, and is working with partners on the ground to ensure that aid reaches all those in real need.
