Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a state visit to Belarus, met with President of Belarus Mr. Alexander Lukashenko at the Presidential Palace in Minsk on March 7 at 11 am local time.
First, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was welcomed by the President of Belarus along with a guard of honor. Then, in an exclusive meeting, the leaders discussed matters on diplomatic relations, enhancement of cooperation in various sectors such as agriculture, economy, industry, education, science and technology, culture, and sports, enhancement of cooperation in defense matters, and further strengthening of friendship between the two countries through multi-sectoral cooperation.

In addition, they discussed Myanmar-Belarus trade and economic cooperation and preparations for holding free and fair multi-party democratic general elections in Myanmar. After that, the two countries continued bilateral talks noting that despite the distance, both countries have diplomatic and defense ties and are good friends. They discussed conditions for signing memorandums of understanding between the two countries during the goodwill visit, the conditions for holding talks between the two foreign ministries, the conditions for cooperation in manufacturing of dairy products and industrial raw materials, enhancement of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, investment matters and cooperation in agriculture, manufacturing of agricultural machinery and other sectors.
Then, the signing ceremony of agreements and memorandums of understanding between the two governments was held. Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and the Foreign Minister of Belarus exchanged memorandums of understanding on cooperation between the two governments and memorandums of understanding on cooperation in the sectors of sports and tourism, legal cooperation and agriculture and food safety. After that, the heads of state of the two countries issued joint statements to the media. After meeting the media, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing conferred the title of Agga Maha Thray Sithu on President Alexander Lukashenko.
