The State Administration Council issued an order dated December 18, stating the establishment of the Electricity and Energy Development Commission has been formed to accelerate the development of the electricity and energy sector.
According to the order, the commission is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for the Office of the Prime Minister Admiral Tin Aung San, and Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun acts as Vice-Chairman 1 and Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin as Vice-Chairman 2.
The order states that the commission consists of a total of 17 members and that the duties and authorities of the commission will be announced separately.
